Accessibility

What we have done, and the places we know are not good enough yet.

What we aim for

WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the target rather than a certified claim — nobody has audited this site independently, and saying otherwise would be a stronger statement than we have earned.

What is in place

Every interactive control is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring. Images carry alternative text, form fields have real labels rather than placeholder text standing in for them, and headings run in order so a screen reader can navigate by structure. Text meets AA contrast against its background and reflows to 320px without horizontal scrolling.

Where we fall short

The map is the honest gap. Panning and zooming a vector map is a poor experience with a keyboard and a worse one with a screen reader. The maker list beside it carries the same information in a form that does work, and every maker on the map is in that list — but the map itself is not yet an equal path to the same content.

The distance slider is operable by keyboard but does not announce its value as clearly as it should while dragging.

Tell us what is broken

If something here does not work with the assistive technology you use, that is a bug and we want it. Send us a message describing the page and the tool you were using. Reports like this get priority over feature work.
